Essential Waxing Guidelines for both before and after your treatment to esure you get the best results

24 hours before your treatment

Exfoliate the day before: Preparing your skin will remove any dead skin cells, ensuring optimal result & better experience.
Please be clean: Shower/bath as normal on the day of your appointment. If you are dashing straight from work etc then a wipe down with a baby wipe would be just fine, especially for a bikini wax!!

Clothing: Comfy loose fitting clothing and underwear according to the area to be waxed will mean you are comfortable before, during and after your session.

Don’t shave: In order for waxing to be effective the hair should be no shorter than a grain of rice (approx 1⁄2 cm). For most people this means around 7 -10 days worth of growth after you have last shaved.

No hot baths: Avoid hot bath, steam room, sauna and overexpose the area you are having waxed to the sun 24hrs before your appointment.

Medication: Please let me know if you are taking Roaccutane, or using steroid creams, had any microdermabrasion, skin peels or are using any products containing AHAs. You may be a bit more sensitive.

Minimal makeup: For facial waxing, it’ll get removed from that area  anyway!

Lotions n Potions: Don’t use any moisturizers on the area to be treated on the day itself.

Pain: I don’t intend to inflict any pain but everyone reacts differently due individual sensitivity levels. If you are concerned an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen about 30 mins prior, it helps with pain relief and will protect you from minor swelling. Us girls can be more sensitive during our monthly cycle, so try to get the wax done at least three days before or after menstruating. Also Caffeine, menstruation and pregnancy increase skin sensitivity.

Lose your self-consciousness: No need to be embarrassed there’s nothing I have have not seen before. The less anxious & the more you relax your muscle, the better your experience will be.

Breathe: Don’t hold your breath!! Take a deep breath in when the wax goes on, then breathe out when I ‘yank’ the wax away and it will feel so much better!

24/48 hours after your treatment

Chicken Skin! It is totally normal immediately after your wax to experience a little bit of redness & a prickly heat type rash. These symptoms should subside over the next 24-48 hrs if they don’t just take an anti-histamine.

Stay Clean: Your hair has been removed at the root and this leaves your follicles exposed & temporarily more susceptible to bacteria. This is more common on your first waxing experience, as the hair bulb at the base of the hair is larger. Keep the waxed area clean, avoid heat & friction during the next 24-48 hours.

Clothing: Again, Wear clean, loose fitting clothes as this prevents any unnecessary friction & minimize ingrown hair.

Hot baths: No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only).

No saunas/hot tubs/steam treatments/tanning

No swimming in chlorinated pool or other exercise.

Leave it alone: Avoid scratching or touching the treated area any discomfort is temporary.
Lotions n Potions: To soothe and protect the skin, apply Adam & Eve after wax lotion which contains antiseptic and healing properties to the waxed area regularly after 24hrs of your treatment. And always wash your hands before applying any product.

In-growing hairs: To prevent these little blighters and to keep your skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally exfoliate  & moisturize regularly. The use of a good quality scrub is highly recommended after 2 – 3 days of waxing.
Getting hairy again: You may notice a small amount of re-growth after a few days or so. It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results. Hair needs to be at least 1⁄2 cm long before it can be successfully removed by waxing; please do not shave between your appointments. To maintain your smooth appearance wax every 4-5 weeks.
